Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is again determining Arsenal to win the title. After becoming a hero in the FA Cup, he has now led The Gunners to win the Community Shield.

Arsenal managed to beat Liverpool’s resistance in the Community Shield match which was held at Wembley, Saturday (29/8/2020) evening WIB. Mikel Arteta’s men won 5-4 on penalties after the match ended in a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.

Aubameyang has a big role in the success of London Cannon in winning the Community Shield title this time. He opened Arsenal’s lead in the 12th minute, before Liverpool equalized through Takumi Minamino in the second half.

The player from Gabon then became the determinant of Arsenal’s victory in the high-fives round. He progressed as Arsenal’s fifth shooter on penalties 4-4.

This happened after Rhian Brewster, who became the third executor of The Reds, failed to carry out his duties. Aubameyang’s 12-kick fit outwitted Alisson to make Arsenal secure the 2020 Community Shield.

This incision made Aubameyang attached to Arsenal’s hero status. Previously, he also played a key role in Arsenal’s move to win the 2019/2020 FA Cup.

The 31-year-old forward scored brace in the semifinals when Arsenal silenced Manchester Ciy 2-0. He again scored two goals in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Chelsea in the final.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, admits that Aubameyang has an extraordinary mentality in decisive situations. He can handle pressure very well.

“Big games, big moments, for the big players too. He responded very well to such pressure. He was outstanding in the FA Cup final and so was today,” Arteta said of Aubameyang quoted from BBC.
