49ers news: Armstead to miss Saturday practice; FB Bruce Miller signs with Jags

The San Francisco 49ers will practice on Saturday morning, but defensive lineman Arik Armstead will not be on the pitch as he suffers from a back irritation. The team didn’t put on the pads until Monday, so I won’t read too much about Armstead’s injury just yet. WR Jalen Hurd and TE Jordan Reed will be limited as they return after missing last season. There is no need for overwork either. 49ers need to be healthy during the winter months, not the summer.

Do you remember Bruce Miller? He signed with the Jaguars on Saturday after being out of the NFL for the past three seasons. What’s the connection to Jacksonville, you ask? Former 49ers general manager Trent Baalke is the director of professional personnel for the Jaguars. In 2016, Miller was charged with beating father and son in September 2016 while he was drunk trying to break into the wrong hotel room at Marriott Fisherman’s Wharf. Miller has faced felony charges, including assault with a lethal weapon, elder abuse, and criminal threats.
