West Tigers Josh Reynolds and Souths Latrell Mitchell heated up after an accidental head butt

Josh Reynolds has escaped because he was reported in the early stages of the South Sydney Rabbitohs-Wests Tigers clash after an accidental kick in the head.

When the Rabbitohs attacked the line, intercepting David Nofoaluma looked like the tiger pilot would have been gone if he could have taken the ball clean.

The ball was loose, Latrell Mitchell threw the ball down and Campbell Graham picked it up.

But when he tried to pick it up in an offside position, Reynolds tried to bring it forward, missed the ball in an air swing and accidentally picked up Graham with his boot.

Mitchell didn’t take the move too nicely, threw Reynolds and stood over him until the rest of the players came back.

Fox League commentator Dan Ginnane called it a “dog breakfast” when the teams got together.

It didn’t stop Mitchell and Reynolds from spurring each other on, while Reynolds said, “You think I meant damn it, wake up, damn it” to be shot on camera.

Ginnane said “kicking is the problem”.

“Josh Reynolds has a short fuse and now he has woken up Latrell,” he added.

When referee Ben Cummins reported Reynolds, Michael Ennis said, “I think it was the right call, I don’t think there was any malice in it.”

On Channel 9, Phil Gould said, “At no point did he intend to kick him there. He just misfired to kick the ball, but he is classified as dangerous and South Sydney will be fined.”

Andrew Johns said “there was no need for this” after tapping.

Half of the south, Adam Reynolds, was shocked that his Tigers namesake could stay on the field after the incident.
