Norwegian skier Find Christian Jagge, Olympic champion of slalom in the Albertville Games 1992, died at 54, his family announced Wednesday.

“The best dad in the world … died today, after a serious illness,” wrote his partner, Trine-Lise Jagge, on his Facebook account, adding several family photos to his message.

In addition to his Olympic title, in his record won the World Cup in slalom seven times in the nineties, until his last campaign (1999-2000).

After his time as a skier, Finn Christian Jagge was coach of the Norwegian women’s alpine team (2005-2007). He was also a commentator for the TV2 network in his country.

«He was a unique athlete. He was good at numerous sports, including tennis. In alpine (skiing) he was a legend, ”his former teammate Kjetil André Aamodt told NRK public television.
