Valentino Rossi’s First Words After Winning the MotoGP Podium at the Age of 41 Years

KOMPAS.com – Yamaha Energy Monster racer, Valentino Rossi, finally won again the podium in the Andalusian MotoGP race.

Valentino Rossi finished third in the Andalusian MotoGP at the Jerez Circuit on Sunday (07/26/2020).

Actually Valentino Rossi can reach the second podium. However, on lap 24, Rossi slipped to third position after being overtaken by Maverick Vinales.

For Rossi, who has turned 41 years old, this is the first podium after the 2019 MotoGP Americas.

That is, Rossi could only feel the podium again after waiting for 1 year 102 days.

These results also brought Valentino Rossi successfully won the 199th podium in the MotoGP premiere class.

Although not as a champion, Rossi claimed to be very happy because he could get back to the podium.

“I am very, very happy. It’s been a long time. We came to this race from a bad period and bad results,” Valentino Rossi said when interviewed after the race.

“This weekend, we work differently, we have a good start and a good lap.”

“I am very happy. This is not a victory, but the feeling is similar,” said Valentino Rossi.

The Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) successfully defended his champion title.

Previously, Quartararo won his first victory at the Spanish MotoGP which was also held at the Jerez Circuit last week.

He became the youngest rider to win the MotoGP series back-to-back since Marc Marquez.
