There have been some people complaining about how much of CBS’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League 2019-20 season resumption will be streamed only on CBS All-Access (perhaps a little understandable considering their season delay after that Turner Sports has opted for their existing agreement; it is noteworthy that CBS All-Access offers a one-month free trial version and that CBS plans to broadcast more games in future years), but CBS is not the only way to watch them. And the situation will be very different when it comes to Univision’s Champions League coverage in Spanish.
Univision has Spanish-speaking rights to the UEFA Champions League until 2023-24 after an extension earlier this year, and historically has shown many on TV. They benefited from the rankings, and it was played in their wider soccer-focused strategy. And they announced on Thursday that they will broadcast every remaining UEFA Champions League game on television through their broadcast networks (Univision and UniMás) and via cable (TUDN and Galavisión). Here is more from their version:
The Emmy-winning pre-game “Fútbol Central” will precede all UEFA Champions League games, while the flagship TUDN program “Misión Europa” will provide highlights and post-game analysis. TUDN’s sports team includes UEFA Champions League winner and 1994 Ballon D’or Hristo Stoichkov, legendary Real Madrid and Inter de Milan striker Iván Zamorano, iconic UEFA Champions League commentators Luis Omar Tapia and Diego Balado. The coverage also includes European football experts Marc Crosas and Jose Hernández and hosts Alejandro Berry, Lindsay Casinelli, Tony Cherchi and Adriana Monsalve.
And here is their schedule table (all Eastern times):
Date Time of meeting Network
Round of 16:
7/7 Manchester City vs Real Madrid 14:00 UniMás / TUDN
8/7 Juventus vs Lyon 2 pm Galavisión
8/8 Barcelona vs Naples 14:00 Univision / TUDN
8/8 Bayern München vs. Chelsea 14:00 Galavisión

The final:

It is certainly interesting to see Univision commit to broadcasting the rest of this year’s UEFA Champions League on TV, with quite a lot of broadcasting. And this will also be available digitally, with all these games available digitally to all TUDN subscribers authenticated via the TUDN and TUDN.TV app. So if people don’t want to sign up even for a free CBS All-Access trial, these games will be available on TV, albeit in Spanish.
