Chernov completed the trip on Tuesday, covering a total of 1,066 kilometers. As says the cyclist, the previous record, which was three days 15 hours and 22 minutes, he broke by eight and a half hours.
During the trip, he donated more than 30,000 US dollars (about 26,000 euros), which will be donated to the Canadian Paralympic Foundation to help parasailors buy the necessary equipment.
“It’s nice to finish. After several days, I’m finally asleep and now I’m feeling pretty good,” Chernoc said on Daybreak South.
The athlete decided to run this distance to maintain his motivation, which was severely shattered when the Tokyo Paralympic Games were postponed for a year. Although the 1000-kilometer challenge was a test for the athlete himself, he decided to use the platform for a charity event.
At the Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games, Chernov won all three forging medals.
