Not everyone agreed with Stephen Curry’s message about wearing the mask.
The NBA shared a video on Facebook on Monday with Curry wearing a black Under Armor mask. In the video, the two-time MVP has invited fans to continue wearing masks and socially distance to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
The video is part of the league’s NBA Together campaign, aimed at engaging and supporting fans during the pandemic.
“I want to encourage you to continue practicing social estrangement,” Curry said in the video. “Be safe and precise with each step, but above all continue to wear a mask. It is extremely important in terms of stopping the spread of this virus, in terms of protecting yourself and others. “
Some commentators disagreed with the sentiment, however, questioning the legitimacy of the preventive measures.
“The mask is not good for your health!” wrote commentator Jason Lansdell. The comment received 107 likes and 41 replies, one of the main comments on the post.
“For the record, the word” social distance “doesn’t even make sense,” said Mac Johnson.
As of Wednesday, the United States has reported over 3 million coronavirus cases and 131,329 deaths.
