The Knicks front office has interviewed (or is planning to interview) 11 candidates for the position of head coach … so what is another friend on the list?
Come on down, Chris Fleming: you’re number 12!
Chicago Bulls lead assistant Chris Fleming, an innovative offensive architect, will interview Thursday for the vacancy as head coach of the New York Knicks, according to Yahoo Sports.

Fleming is a boy from New Jersey, which makes him OK in my book. He coached in the German Bundesliga, winning four German leagues and three German Cup titles with Bamberg. He was named Bundesliga manager of the year in 2011.
Fleming started his NBA career with the Spurs’ Summer League team in 2014, and worked for the Nuggets and Nets (under fellow candidate Kenny Atkinson!) Before securing an assistant job for the Bulls.
OK, but bulls are bulls, right? They have been terrible this season, yes? In fact, they ranked 29th for offensive efficiency. But, as Mike Vorkunov points out, this is probably due to the lack of talent with respect to Fleming’s plans.
Fleming has a reputation for an intelligent offensive mind. While the Bulls suffered 29th in the standings this season, they actually scored the 5th most open shot per game on average (but hit them at the 9th worst rate in the NBA). https://t.co/40lD5qR8f0

Unfortunately, even the Knicks have no noteworthy shooter. But if they lose shots, they could also lose open shots!
Good luck, Chris Fleming! I already like you more than Jason Kidd, who you interviewed with the Knicks last week.
