Ķegums, July 3, LETA. The World Motocross Championship (MXGP) season at the beginning of August continues with three stages on the Ķegums track, the competition calendar published by the organizers on Friday reports.

The agency LETA has already reported that the course of two MXGP stages in Latvia has been reported in motor sports circles.

Kristers Serģis, the organizer of the Latvian stage, previously stated in a conversation with the news agency LETA that this idea is only at the level of negotiations, but on Friday it turned out that the Latvian audience will be delighted by even three stages.

Over the past four months, the supporter of the race, Infront Moto Racing, and the International Automobile Federation (FIM) have made great efforts to establish a calendar within each country’s restrictions on the distribution of Covid-19. The goal of the organizers is still to take as many stages as possible.

The organizers of MGXP have decided that the season will continue on August 8-9 in Ķegums, which will host two more races on August 11-12 and August 15-16. It is planned that the route in Ķegums will be modified for each stage.

It is also known that up to 1,000 fans will be able to watch the competition in person, but if the situation in the world and also in Latvia improves, the number of spectators could increase.

In the other stages, fans could gather on the side of the track in September, but this depends on the restrictions set by each country’s government.

With the changes in the calendar, it has become known that this year the stages will not take place in the Czech Republic, Sweden and Finland, which will definitely host the next race in 2021 and also in the next two years.

Meanwhile, the German, Indonesian and Asian sections have been moved to the next year. The course of the last two was postponed to November this year.

The Emilia-Romagna stage has been moved to the city of Faenza, which will host two races in a row. Three stages are scheduled in Belgium (Lommel, Limburg and the Flemish Region), while the timing of the last two stages of the season in Russia and Portugal is not yet known.

It is known that this year in Erne, France, there will be no Nations Cup, which will take place in this city in 2023. This year’s Nations Cup is likely to take place in Britain.

In order to take care of the health of athletes, it was decided to spend training trips in MXGP and MX2 classes on the same day as the competition. Training would start in the first half of the day, but the competition would take place in the evening.

After August 16, the athletes will go to Turkey (September 6), followed by two stages in Faenza (September 16 and 20), a week later the stage is scheduled for Winchester, and on October 4, the roar of motorcycles will sound on the Lombardy track.

In Spain, one stage will take place a week later, on the 18th, 21st. and on October 25 the competition will take place in Belgium, on November 1 will have to return to Italy, but on November 22 a stage is planned in Argentina, after which stages in Portugal and Russia are also planned.

The first two stages of the season took place at the beginning of March in Great Britain and the Netherlands, with Latvian Paul Jonas starting 2020 with unsuccessful starts. Jonas recently suffered a serious injury in one of his trainings, and it is unknown at this time when he would return to the track.
