The attacker wields the tennis racket in the robbery on Capitol Hill, says a police report

The incident started around 5 am when the victim was sitting in his car in the block of Seventh Street 700, according to a report posted on a police bulletin board.

Five people came and pulled the driver out of the car. Leaving the vehicle with the engine still running, the driver ran down Seventh Street to F Street, the report says.

When he returned to the car, the report said, his attackers also showed up, in a separate car.

One of them, according to the police report, hit the victim on the head with a tennis racket. The attacker who handled the racket appeared to be around 12 years old, according to the published report.

The young attacker requested the man’s wallet. It was not clear if he got it.

A second attacker then brandished what the police described as a long gun. He appeared to be around 20 years old and the other three members of the group appeared to be between the ages of 14 and 16.

Some members of the group got into the victim’s car, a blue Toyota Prius, and fled, police said. The others left in the silver vehicle in which they apparently arrived.

Police said they are investigating.

It was not clear whether the victim had been injured.
