Short staffed clippers lose guard Patrick Beverley as veteran leaves bubbles to strive for personal emergency, sources say

BUENA VISTA LAKE, Fla. – Guard Clippers Patrick Beverley left Orlando on Tuesday evening to address a personal emergency and plans to rejoin the team in the future, according to ESPN reports.

Already running out of hand, Beverley is the second Clippers player to leave Orlando. Montrezl Harrell had a justified absence for a family emergency.

If Beverley continues to be tested regularly while he is away – and returns negative results – he will have to quarantine for four days when he returns to the NBA campus near Orlando. Otherwise, Beverley could be subject to two weeks of quarantine.

Beverley, who attended the Clippers’ practice on Tuesday morning, has played 48 games this season, all starting. He averaged 7.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

The Clippers landed in Orlando on July 9 and remained in quarantine for the first two days. Beverley is one of the team leaders and is a constant vocal presence in practice and off the pitch.

The Clippers play their first scrimmage on Wednesday against Orlando Magic and play their first restart game on July 30 against the Lakers.

Clippers could choose to start Reggie Jackson in his place.
