Sam Edmund’s latest email on the 2020 AFL game

SEN’s Sports reporter Sam Edmund dropped some game tips before the next game block, which will be published by AFL.

Much of the remaining home and away season is compressed, which means the games are likely to be played most evenings of the week before the last two rounds revert to a traditional Thursday through Sunday setup.

While Tasmania will host games for the first time this year in the coming weeks, Northern Territory games will not be part of the next game release, according to Edmund.

“It doesn’t sound like the Northern Territory will be involved in the next block of games,” said Edmund am Sway’s Dwayne’s World.

“A lot has been said about playing in Alice Springs and Darwin and we are all barracks for our friends in the Northern Territory to host some games with a few spectators.

“I think it will still happen, but the mail I received is that it won’t happen in the next block, but you can include Tasmania and Hobart (specifically) to host some games.”

Edmund also reports that all 18 clubs have received their next four opponents, provided things can change due to the flowing nature of the current season.

“The clubs have received their opponents for the next four games,” said Edmund.

“You have four opponents on paper with the clear message that it could change, it should come today, but if it comes today, it will be late today or even tomorrow.

“The more games the AFL reveals, the more they are locked up and we know that this is a very moving animal.”

AFL is expected to announce the composition of the game after Round 8 in the coming days.
