Rumors of the NBA: the Celtics will lose the assistant coach against the duke

Celtics hired Kara Lawson as the first female assistant in franchise history before this season and she appears to be leaving the organization to take the next step in her career.

According to several reports, Lawson will likely be named head coach of the Duke women’s basketball team.

The 39-year-old had a long career as a musician before becoming a commentator for ESPN.

According to the Raleigh News & Observer, Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca, who is a member of the Duke’s foundation board, pushed the school to hire Lawson.

The Celtics are currently in Orlando preparing to restart the NBA, which will begin on July 31 for the team when they face the Bucks.
