Reportedly, the NBA’s # 1 potential pick and former Illawarra Hawks point guard LaMelo Ball want to play for the New York Knicks.
SNY.tv’s Ian Begley provided the scoop on Thursday:
“While the teams do homework on the players in the draw, there has been a consistent theme on LaMelo Ball: more teams believe that Ball and those in his circle prefer that he appear in New York. The Knicks, for what it’s worth.)
“The information provided by the teams aligns with what LaMar’s father LaVar Ball said about his son and the Knicks and previous reports.
“The New York Post he reported last month that some in the NBA believe that LaVar Ball will try to “guide” LaMelo to the Knicks. But the report did not suggest how Ball would actually do it.“
New York needs a long-term solution to guard the point, and Ball may be the answer.
The problem is that the Knicks may not be able to catch Ball, who is in first place in the draft by Jonathan Wasserman, an expert on the Bleacher Report project. Athletic’s Sam Vecenie also has the best draft potential. He is one of the top three almost consensual players.
The Knicks may be lucky in the draft lottery, but they only have a 9% chance of getting the first place overall and a 37.2% shot gets a selection of the best four, for Tankathon.
