Roy Keane gives the verdict on Mason Greenwood’s development to Manchester United

Manchester United star Roy Keane believes that Mason Greenwood’s turn to become an important player made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job at Old Trafford easier.

Questions had been asked about United’s ability in the last third, following the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Inter, and many believed that his release had left a void.

However, Greenwood firmly established himself in the team’s first heat by forming a strong attacking trio alongside Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

Although this has undoubtedly improved the team’s effectiveness, Keane also believes that it has had a significant impact on Solskjaer’s position.

“I think it made Ole’s job much easier,” said Keane Sky Sports before United’s victory over Leicester on Sunday. “When you hear him talk and the way he plays, he is very mature for his age.

“Now he’s given Ole such a headache, he has to play. He’s setting goals, he’s young, he’s in shape. These are the best days of his life.”

Greenwood has scored double numbers in the Premier League this season, combining with Rashford and Martial at 44 of the 66 United League goals.
