Defensive end Everson Griffen is one of the best veteran free agents still available with training camps set to open up around the league and a team that has seen him a lot over the years would be interested in what the longtime Viking joins his defense.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Packers are among the teams that have expressed interest in Griffen’s services. He adds that there is interest on Griffen’s side as well, but there is no indication that a deal is imminent.

Griffen would join a Packers Defense that already has Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith coming out of the rim. They also have 2019 first-round pick Rashan Gary returning for his second season in the NFL.

The Vikings did not close the door to bring Griffen back for an 11th season with the team in May, but nothing has materialized in the past two months. His 74.5 bags rank fourth in franchise history.
