The NBA will establish “timeout presences” as part of its effort to keep social distance whenever possible amidst the restart of the league, which takes place after a four-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic provided the details on Tuesday:

Twenty-two of the league’s 30 teams are in Walt Disney World, near Orlando, Florida, for the reboot, which involves three scrimmage matches per team before the regular season resumes on July 30th.

Scrimmage matches will begin on Wednesday at 15:00 ET when the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers open the list, so we’ll see the timeout chairs in action with the game aired on NBATV.

This article will be updated to provide more information on this story as it becomes available.
