Report: Jaguars refused several offers for Yannick Ngakoue

It is obvious that the Jaguars will not be giving defensive end Yannick Ngakoue a long-term deal before today’s deadline. Will they yield to its commercial demand?

A report released earlier on Wednesday indicated that Ngakoue was ready to play elsewhere on the $ 17.8 million one-year franchise tag.

The obvious problem with this is that a team willing to trade against Ngakoue will give less for a one-year rental.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, the Jaguars have received several offers for Ngakoue, “including one involving a Pro Bowl player who did not match their system”. The Jaguars, however, did not receive a sufficiently valid offer – at least in their spirit – for Ngakoue.

The Jaguars are therefore in no rush to reach an agreement, adds Pelssero.

Last year, the Seahawks traded Texans’ label Jadeveon Clowney before the season, costing them Jacob Martin, Barkevious Mingo and a third-round pick.
