PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN reportedly asked Neymar to seal a return to Barcelona.
The Spanish outlet El Chiringuito says that the French champions are asking for £ 72 million PLUS Ousmane Dembele for the Brazilian.
The report adds that PSG would consider reducing Neymar’s £ 153 million value when the transfer window opens if they get French in return.
Dembele fought from a £ 135 million move from Borussia Dortmund three years ago.
The French winger was hindered by an injury, making only 74 appearances and scoring 19 goals.
Barca’s hierarchy is said to be willing to cut losses on Dembele after the emergence of the prodigy Ansu Fati.
International France could be tempted by an attempt to return home to revive his career.
Although such an agreement would prove a massive U-turn from Barcelona, after President Josep Maria Bartomeu said Dembele is better than Neymar last year.
In an interview with Cadena SER, via Jaume Lobo di Sport, he was asked about the possibility of the club resigning from superstar Samba.
He said, “I won’t say yes or no.
“I say that with their money, Barca made a sports bet. With that money we went to players like Dembele and [Philippe] Coutinho. Dembele is better than Neymar. He’s in Barca and he’s better. “
Neymar has long been connected with a return to the Catalan giants and is said to be in close contact with his former teammates and club staff.
But Camp Nou chief Bartomeu recently admitted that PSG is unlikely to put the Brazilian on the market, given financial uncertainty in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
Barcelona must balance the books before reaching goals with lots of money with up to seven players, including Philippe Coutinho, up for grabs.
