Predictions for the choice of the first round of Bulls

NBA's season restart, and with organized offseason activities a question hanging in the air, the next tentpole for the Bulls to hone in on is the draft." data-reactid="16">Absent from the restart of the NBA season, and with offseason activities organized a question suspended in the air, the next tentacle on which the Bulls will have to hone is the project.

This year’s draft will be particularly important for the organization. Entering the fourth year of a reconstruction and under the leadership of a new front office in Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley, the direction that the Bulls take with their upcoming top-10 will offer a window on the thoughts of the new regime on the roster and on the general position of the teams.

Karnisovas, for his part, contested the widely accepted idea that this draft is weak at his end-of-season press conference with reporters. The Bulls have the seventh best stake in the lottery (again), with a 7.5 percent chance of picking # 1. 1 and 32 percent chance of jumping in the top four. They also own the Grizzlies’ second round pick (# 47) by means of some transaction minutes of Tomas Satoransky’s sign-and-trade.

“I like many players who are in our range,” said Karnisovas. “I think we’ve worked hard to study. That’s why the excitement comes from studying those players and interviewing them and watching the video. So I think we’ll add a good player to our list next year.”

Wherever the Bulls land, they will have a litany of possible needs to deal with. Although they invested choice no. 7 overall in Coby White in 2019, the directing potential of lead guards LaMelo Ball or Killian Hayes may be too much to give up if given the opportunity to grab them. On the wing, an area where the Bulls are thin, the handyman Deni Avdija and the 3-and-D prototype Devin Vassell’s stocks are rapidly increasing, and Isaac Okoro has tracked comparisons to Jimmy Butler for his game potential on the defensive end. Onyeka Okongwu, Obi Toppin and James Wiseman are also intrigued by the attacking area.

All this to say, much can happen between today and October, when the draft is expected. In what direction should the Bulls go? Here is a rundown of the latest wave of Mock Draft from all interwebs:
