Pētersons together with Mārtiņš Blūms are the best mountain bikers of all time in Latvia. At the beginning of the 2018 season, Arnis rewrote the history of Latvian cycling, winning the record-high eighth place in the World Cup stage of MTB XCO in the elite age group. At the top of his achievements are also 5th place in the U23 World Championship, 4th place in the U23 World Cup stage and other notable international achievements.

For a long time, the athlete did not start in either international or Latvian competitions. However, the passion and love for cycling has not disappeared for Cēsis. Arnis will return to the competition this year. He will join last year ‘s leading MTB marathon team in Latvia – “DTG – MySport”, which has gathered a number of good level riders.

This season, Arnis will place the greatest emphasis on Latvian and Baltic competitions. The main task will be to regain sports form and confidence. The team wants to give Arnis the opportunity to return to a professional level, where he still has the opportunity to compete for high places in the highest scale competitions.

DTG – MySport has started the new season with a number of high-quality results. Oskars Muižnieks triumphed in the first stage of “Vivus.lv MTB marathon” and “MySport” in Tome MTB marathon, as well as won a silver medal in the Latvian championship in MTB XCO cross. Second places in both marathons for Lauris Purniņš, but in the Latvian championship MTB XCO cross he was third. Gints Lūsis, Kārlis Vanags and Edgars Brigmanis have also started the new season with success.
