Pep Clotet: The boss of Birmingham City leaves the club immediately

Pep Clotet had headed Oxford United in the 2017/18 season

Birmingham City boss Pep Clotet left the club after the 1-3 loss to Swansea City on Wednesday.

The 43-year-old Spaniard should leave the championship at the end of the season, but said it was “mutually agreed” that he would step down immediately.

Birmingham has not won in 10 league games and is 17th in the table.

Clotet had supported former boss Garry Monk before temporarily taking over as head coach in June 2019.

Since the restart of the championship after the lockdown, the blues has only collected two out of 15 possible points and is now only four points above the relegation zone.

Their next game will be against Stoke on Sunday.
