Padres News: San Diego has released Brian Dozier

On Saturday, ESPN reported that the Padres have released former World Series champion Brian Dozier.

Recently Dozier was with the citizens of Washington last season, where he played a rotating role in helping them win the 2019 title. His time with the Padres lasts just under five months, ending up without playing.

This year he would have had to earn $ 2.2 million if he had been added to the register of 40 Padres men.

Last season, Dozier hit .238 / .340 / .430 with 20 home runs and 50 RBI in his solo season with the national teams. After being the second starting base for Washington in the first half of the 2019 season, Dozier was eventually replaced by Asdrubal Cabrera, that’s why he chose San Diego in the hope of being the owner of the team in that position.

Dozier made his Major League debut in 2012 at the age of 25 with the Minnesota Twins. He played there for seven seasons before playing a 2018 piece with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He has a career average of .245 with 192 home shots and 562 RBI.
