Prague – The director of Opava football, Jaroslav Rovňan, acknowledges the decision of the league board to complete the last two rounds of the group to save and cancel the draw. The head of the Silesian club considers this variant to be fairer for teams from the highest competition. Two other premier league clubs endangered by the descent of Příbram and Karviná, which trained in the team for the first time since quarantine due to the occurrence of a new coronavirus, also voted in favor of the proposal.

If the rescue group can be completed, only one team will relegate from the highest competition this year, and three teams will advance from the second league – the winning Pardubice, Brno and Dukla Prague. Next season in the first league, 18 teams will play and the superstructure will be canceled. If the group does not finish the rescue, no one will descend and next season only Pardubice and Brno will appear in the highest competition.

“He decides on the pitch, which is right. We are glad that the conditions for the teams are now fairer than in the original proposal, when the premier league clubs had to play four matches in nine days and would be disadvantaged against the second league teams,” Rovňan told the club website.

After three rounds of the superstructure group for rescue, Karviná ranks fourth in the six-member table, which would normally mean participation in the playoff. Slezané has a two-point lead over the penultimate Opava and the last Příbram. The fourth round is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, and the final fifth round three days later.

“We have two key matches ahead of us that we have to manage. We have it in our hands and we will do everything we can to stay in the highest competition,” Rovňan stated.

They also respect the verdict of professional clubs in Karviná, whose situation has significantly complicated the end of the season. At the beginning of July, several MFK players developed covid-19 disease and the entire club had to be quarantined for two weeks. After negative control tests for coronavirus, the charges of coach Juraj Jarábek returned to training this evening.

“I don’t know what it will do to us. The boys could do almost nothing at home for two weeks. No one has ever experienced such a situation. In any case, we respect the decisions of the league board,” said Jarábek.

He is glad that the barrage has been canceled. “To play four difficult matches in nine days after all this? That would be brutal. I firmly believe that despite the training failure and only six days of preparation, the boys will prepare well and put everything into it for the last two matches, which they will definitely decide. that we will succeed successfully, “added the Slovak coach.

The president of the last Příbram, Jaroslav Stark, did not like the proposal to finish the group for rescue from the beginning due to the occurrence of coronavirus in Karviná and previously in the second league Třinec. He did not change his opinion even after the league board. “On the surface, we are not satisfied that the league will be completed, but we respect that,” Starka said. “We are optimistic and we believe that we will play in the league,” added his son and club owner Jan Starka.

Dukla wanted to fight for progress on the field, now she is in uncertainty

Football Dukla wanted to compete for the promotion to the highest competition on the field, but still voted in favor of the proposal to cancel the draw. However, after the league committee meeting, the Juliska club is in uncertainty, as it does not yet know whether it will play the first or second league next season. If the first league group for rescue is completed, the people of Prague will return to the elite after a year. Otherwise, they would remain in the second highest competition.

The board of professional clubs today approved the cancellation of the play-off in which Dukla was to introduce herself as the third team of the second league. The Juliska club now has to wait for two or three teams to go to the top competition.

“It’s a surprise to me how it was decided. I’d rather we decided on the course on the field. At the moment we have to wait for the competition to finish,” Dukla coach Roman Skuhravý told the club website.

“We preferred the option where we can compete on the pitch. Today the league committee came up with another option, we welcome it and voted for it. Although we are now in doubt. We have to wait to see how the last two rounds turn out and if they will finish at all, “added Pavel Vandas, Executive and Sports Director of Dukla, for Czech Television.

The complication for Praguers is that they still do not know whether they will compose the staff for the first or second league. “There is a lot of uncertainty in this, because the preparation of the staff for the first and second leagues will be different. We had planned that the players now have time off to start training after Sunday and we were preparing for the playoffs. to start the training camp, so we would practically go without a break. It will be difficult anyway, “said Vandas.

“But nothing changes for us on the set path. After agreement with the owner, we still proceed in the same way. Although the first league will certainly be more economically demanding. The positive thing is that I can plan when the players will start preparing for the new season,” added Skuhravý.
