Brisbane Broncos’ annual meeting was hit with a quick backhand by a club legend.
When the club sank to their lowest after seven defeats in the last eight games, the club’s board held the meeting in front of the shareholders.

A statement said that the club’s financial results for fiscal year 2020-21 were “significantly” affected by the club’s sad performance on the pitch.
Coach Anthony Seibold will have his position checked at the end of the season. The club gives him nine weeks to change the situation.
But immediately after the meeting ended, a club legend unleashed his anger over how it was dealt with.

Chris Johns, chairman of the Brisbane Broncos Old Boys, spoke to Peter Badel of the Courier Mail and didn’t bite his tongue.
Daily Telegraph and NRL 360 co-moderator Paul Kent asked Badel for rumblings that he had heard in connection with the questions asked during the meeting.
“Pete, I heard after the AGM today that some people complained that the questions that were asked to answer Karl Morris and Paul White were hand-picked and that the really difficult questions were all avoided,” Kent asked.
Badel went into detail about John’s misfortune with the “cherry harvest” that took place throughout the meeting.
“That’s right, PK. I spoke to one of the shareholders, Chris Johns, he was at the general meeting and he called it a “facade”. He said it was a “miserable general meeting”, said Badel.
“In his mind, he said that the questions that were emailed were not properly forwarded by Karl Morris and Paul White.”
“He said some of the questions that were curly were ‘modified anyway and weren’t fully answered’. He said they had “chosen softer questions to appease the message they wanted to convey to the public.”
“Of course that’s Chris John’s view, Karl Morris and Paul White may feel different, but Chris Johns didn’t feel like he was getting the answers he was looking for at a general meeting today, which he called the ‘facade’.”
