NHL: Good News for Players

Some players in the National Hockey League (NHL) will have a good reason to celebrate on Wednesday. Indeed, those who were to receive a bonus on 1is July, as provided in their contract, will be paid.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, these payments could have been delayed, but this is unlikely to be the case.

Several players have signing bonuses, but not all of them are necessarily paid on the 1stis July.

Players like Sebastian Aho (nearly $ 10 million), from the Carolina Hurricanes, and Carey Price ($ 8.75 million), from the Montreal Canadiens, will see their bank account increase considerably.

In all, as reported by Louis Jean on Tuesday, the owners will have to pay players $ 450 million on Wednesday.

In addition, there was a telephone meeting of the NHLPA executive council with the players regarding the latest developments in phase 3 (training camp) and phase 4 (return to play) as well as an extension of the collective agreement, according to TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie.
