MATCHDAY: PSG is aiming for the French Cup in a competitive return

In the first competitive game since the coronavirus pandemic stopped playing in France, French championship champion Paris Saint-Germain faced Saint-Etienne in the French Cup final with a double national team in sight. The final will take place at the 80,000-seat Stade de France in front of an enormously small crowd and without Saint-Etienne fans. Due to French government measures limiting participation to 5,000 people as part of the health protocol, Saint-Etienne supporters have decided to boycott the game in protest. PSG has secured its seventh championship title in the past eight years after the government determined that the championship was due to be canceled due to the pandemic. If he beats Saint-Etienne, PSG will have a chance to secure a triple against Lyon in the League Cup final. The Parisian club also made it to the bottom eight of the Champions League.
