Man United could sell these seven players to finance the transfer of Aston Villa

Manchester United could sell up to eight players to finance a summer move for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, according to reports.

The Daily Mail, via the Daily Express, says that the restructuring of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils team will be hit by some difficulties due to the financial impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

Solskjaer is excited to be moving on some marginal players and has been linked with the moves of Grealish, James Maddison in Leicester City and Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund.

In addition to selling deadwood on the team, United needs to raise money because of the effects of Covid-19 and CEO Ed Woodward is ready to make the departures of those who are not in Solskjaer’s plans his first priority.

The Express says that Grealish remains Solskjaer’s main target, but they will have to get the players out the door first.

An attacker, central defender and full back is also on his list.

In terms of players who may be leaving, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Andreas Pereira and Digo Dalot have been assigned as members of the team who may be granted permission to leave.

Alexis Sanchez, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo are all on loan from the club and may leave the club permanently after the spell ends.
