Liverpool vs. Chelsea: important information for fans

Fans are advised not to gather in Anfield tonight.

The club is asking everyone to help protect the health and safety of other fans and loved ones by not gathering in the stadium.

By supporting the team from home and following government instructions, you are doing your part to protect Liverpool and the local community.

As with all games behind closed doors, there is no access to the stadium footprint. To protect the health and safety of everyone involved, we installed fences around the floor to create a sterile area around the stadium. This will allow us to promote social distancing while carefully managing and protecting the local community and everyone working on the game in accordance with Premier League and government guidelines.

In addition, ongoing renovation work to improve the watertightness of the podium at the main stand was protected to protect the construction site. We know that fans are excited to see how the team wins the trophy. However, contrary to the reports, nothing happens outside the stadium and the team will not appear on the steps.

The top of the Stanley car park is closed to the public as it is part of the club’s match day zone. There is limited access to the car park for dog walkers and those who use the park for leisure activities only.

Anfield Road will be closed between Skerries Road and Alroy Road four hours before the start. Walton Breck Road remains open. However, we may have to block the road during the game for health and safety reasons.

Before the game, we worked again with our city partners and the Premier League to ask fans to stay home and enjoy the ceremony and not travel to Anfield.

We ask everyone to get involved in the game against Chelsea and the subsequent trophy handover, which can be broadcast free of charge on the Sky Pick channel in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

From everyone at Liverpool FC we want to thank our incredible fans for their support. It is important that we end the season as safely as possible and prioritize public health to ensure that the return to football is a success for Merseyside.
