Lionel Hollins will not join the Orlando Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to show up at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando next week for the NBA restart, but a technical staff member reportedly will not make the trip.

According to Yahoo Sports NBA reporter Chris Haynes, Lakers’ assistant coach Lionel Hollins has been marked as a health problem. As a result, he will not be able to join the Orlando team.

Hollins is 66 years old, but the situation is not age related, according to Haynes.

Hollins is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Lakers. He previously worked as a manager of the Memphis Grizzlies and Brooklyn networks, accumulating an overall record of 262-272 with four playoff appearances for his career.

Twenty-two of the league’s 30 teams will report to Orlando from July 7 to 9, followed by three weeks of training and scrimmages. Each team will then play eight “seeding games” starting on July 30th and ending on August 14th.

If the seed n. 9 in both conferences should end within four matches of suit no. 8 at the end of the sowing games, this would start a game scenario in which team n. 9 should beat n. 8 team twice in a row to steal their place in the playoffs. If a play-in is required, it will take place from 15 to 16 August. The first round of the NBA playoffs is scheduled to begin on August 17 and the NBA finals will end by October 13.

The Lakers will take action on the first night of the NBA restart, teaming up with cross rival Clippers in the nightcap of a TNT doubleheader.

Below is the complete Lakers seeding program, complete with matches, dates, game times and television information.
