Lee Westwood
Lee Westwood withdrew from the 2018 PGA Championship due to a back injury, the first time since 1996 that he missed the tournament. He’ll miss it again in 2020 … but not because of an injury.
Despite lifting a two-week quarantine, Westwood, a two-time PGA winner who finished fourth at the Honda Classic 2020, will not play at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Memphis next week or the 2020 PGA Championship in two weeks in San Francisco, he said that he was “even more concerned that America is not taking anything [COVID-19] as serious as the rest of the world. “
“I’m still not feeling well and I don’t feel like jumping on a plane for 12 hours is right,” he told The Scotsman. “I felt outside my comfort zone this week. So if I came to Memphis I would feel uncomfortable playing golf tournaments right now.
“I’ve been on tour for 28 years and that’s a shock to the system, isn’t it? Whenever I come out and play the tournaments, it’s almost about seeing my friends and the social element of everything, and you don’t get that right now.
“You quit playing golf and go to the range. I’ve never seen so many players on the range at 8 a.m. trying to evade their hotel rooms. There’s a lot of thinking about where to play.” . “

Duvernay-Tardif
Last weekend I directed hot clicks with tips on the NFL opt-out program for players who don’t like to play the season. Players have until August 5:00 p.m. ET on Saturday August 1st to terminate their 2020 contract, receive $ 150,000 (less all amounts already received in 2020) and resume their contract in 2021.
On Friday night, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif was the first player to sign out. The Chiefs’ first right guard “will not play this year and will instead continue to work as an orderly in a long-term care facility in Canada to fight COVID-19,” said Adam Schefter. A native of Quebec, one of only four medical school graduates playing in the NFL (and the only one active) has two years left for a five-year $ 41.25 million extension that he signs in 2017 Has. You can find his full explanation here.
