The time of the Sacramento Kings on the NBA bubble at Disney World started badly. Starting point guard De’Aaron Fox is still out of action after spraining his ankle and, while waiting for it to be reevaluated in the coming days, they now have a new injury to worry about.

The great second year man Marvin Bagley III underwent an MRI scan after injuring his right foot on Sunday. The team has announced that they are still waiting for the scan results, so it is unclear how long it can be set aside. Without knowing the extent of the damage, it is too early to give too much analysis, but this is another blow for both kings and Bagley.

The choice n. 2 in 2018, Bagley showed promising results in his beginner season, scoring 14.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and one shot blocked per game. Unfortunately, he didn’t have much chance of relying on that campaign. Due to various injuries, including a broken thumb and sprained left foot, Bagley has been limited to sporadically 13 games this season.

He hadn’t seen the pitch since January 20, and it wasn’t clear how big the role he would have been when the season started again in the bubble. However, it is another loss that the team did not expect to face and will make their push to the playoffs even more difficult, especially if Bagley will end up staying for a long time.

Entering the bubble, the Kings are 3.5 Memphis Grizzlies return games for the eighth seed and will have to be within four games of that end point when the seeding games end up earning a place in the play-in tournament. But even if they manage to do so, they will have to beat the eighth seed twice in a row to get the anchor of the playoffs.

It’s certainly not an impossible task, but the kings will have an uphill battle to make the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
