The toughest player of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) and a member of the team of Kaspars Daugaviņš in the team of the Moscow region “Vityaz” Yevgeny Artjuhin told about the style of his game and fights on the ice on the official website of “Vityaz”.

Artjuhin was asked if he had any incidents in his career after the games when the opponents were not at peace with what had happened. “No, never! Everything that happens on the ice stays on the ice. In America, players fight and shake hands after matches. I never went to drink beer after matches with my opponents. ”

37-year-old Artjuhin was ranked third in the National Hockey League (NHL) in 2001 with the 94th number when he came under the auspices of the Lightning at Tampa Bay. He spent two seasons on the team, after which he played for the Anaheim Ducks and Atlanta Thrashers.

Artjuhins scored 19 goals and gave 30 assists in 199 NHL games. He also accumulated 313 penalty minutes.

“I had to fight a lot in America,” Artjuhin continued. “The NHL is a guy who wants to compete with you. In the past, NHL fights were like a cult – one of the most important aspects of the game. At first, my skills in North America were useful, but later the battle culture waned and I was no longer interested. ”

Artjuhin recently signed a one-year contract with his current team, Vityaz. Artjuhins joined the Vityaz club before last season and scored one goal in 30 regular championship games and made two assists. One season ago, the “giant” did not represent any club.

The manner of playing the hockey game has changed in recent years, but until then he has also earned the image of a “bad guy”. Artjuhin is usually the hockey player who presses the opponents to the edges of the field and, if necessary, rolls his fists. During his KHL career, he earned a total of 1,026 penalty minutes, a league record.

The KHL striker has played a total of 358 regular championship games, as well as 53 matches in the Gagarin Cup. In the regular season, he scored a total of 37 goals and scored 50 times, but the play-off was 8 + 7 at his expense.

In Russia’s strongest championship, he has also worn shirts from St. Petersburg SKA, Moscow’s Dynamo, Novosibirsk’s Siberia, Moscow’s CSKA and Mythic Atlant.
