Jürgen Klopp selects two players who can add an extra dimension to Liverpool next season

Jürgen Klopp named Naby Keita and Curtis Jones as two players who can add an extra dimension to Liverpool as next season’s champions.

The Reds defeated Chelsea 5-3 in Anfield to say goodbye to the last home game of a league winning campaign in style. Keita shines in an offensive midfield role.

The Guinea international opened the goal of a free spin by blocking a long-range effort from the bottom of the crossbar as he continued his good form since the Premier League restart.

Jones came on in the second half to score his fifth appearance and subsequent medal for the Premier League winners after the game. Klopp highlighted both of the improvements they can make before defending their title next season.

“Any player who has played in most games now can improve,” said Klopp.

“This is the age group they are in, better decisions about what they do, defensively better, but we have players who haven’t played that much, for example, and Naby is a good example of that.”

“Curtis Jones is also a good example of this. We don’t want to do that [the pressure] too big, but it looks kind of ready. That means we have room and room for improvement.

“We will work on it, but of course not tonight. Now we have to party, relax and play Newcastle. It would be really nice if we could get 99 and it will be difficult. But who cares?”

Liverpool ends its Premier League season in Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.
