Jets Great Nick Mangold mocks Jamal Adams over Seahawks’ loyalty

Nick Mangold doesn’t buy it.

In Jamal Adams’ first media availability after his trade with the Seahawks, the ex-Jet said “the plan is to retire here” in Seattle. Mangold, who played all 11 seasons of his NFL with the Jets, found this ironic.

The double quote from the first team’s All-Pro center tweeted The Post’s story about Adams’ comments, adding a GIF of The Office’s Kevin Malone laughing in amusement.

Of course, fans have heard that sentiment from Adams before.

Before and during his public clash with the Jets management over his contractual situation, Adams said he wanted to be a “Jet for Life.” In December, he told reporters: “I would love to be here [in NY], I would like to be part of this organization. It is my vocation. “

Apparently he had someone else on the other line as he got out of New York.

“It’s my calling, man,” Adams told reporters Thursday. “I am here to stay and I am delighted to be a Seattle Seahawk.”

Despite asking for a contract extension with the Jets, Adams and the Seahawks have agreed that the 2019 All-Pro first team will play the 2020 season as part of their rookie contract.

Ahead of the trade, Adams publicly ransacked head coach Adam Gase for lack of leadership and general manager Joe Douglas for his lack of sincerity. The successful deal saw the Jets win two first-round picks, a third-round pick and safety Bradley McDougald.

“When I got the call, I honestly broke down in tears of joy,” Adams said.
