If fans are allowed to watch the games, the Steelers will ask them to wear face masks.

If fans are allowed to attend the Pittsburgh Steelers’ games at Heinz Field this fall, they will do so with face masks.

“Our goal is to have more fans at Heinz Field this year, with the understanding that social isolation, as well as all fans who wear masks, will play a role in the ability to ensure a safe atmosphere,” said Burt Lauten of the Steelers. ‘director of communications, said in a statement. “We will continue to work with the NFL and public health officials to finalize plans for fans to attend our home games.”

In May, the Steelers announced plans to hold back 50% of individual ticket sales to prepare for possible social distancing guidelines.

The Steelers also told subscription holders in an email that they can request a full refund for the 2020 season, while retaining their ability to renew the subscription location for the following season. Fans will also receive refunds for any canceled preseason games.

“We are communicating with our subscription holders to let them know about the digital ticketing process we will be using this season at Heinz Field for a more flexible solution as we prepare for potentially reduced capacity,” said Lauten. “We will continue to allow our fans to opt out of their 2020 subscriptions if they feel particularly affected by the current situation.”
