The Racing Point Formula One team confirmed on Friday that the German Nico Hülkenberg will replace the Mexican Sergio Pérez in the British Formula One Grand Prix, who will cause a loss after his positive in COVID-19.
The ‘Checo’ Pérez gave a positive result in the test carried out yesterday, Thursday, so he must remain in isolation. His absence at Silverstone gives Nico Hülkenberg a chance to ride the car, whom Racing Point trusts for his “familiarity” with the team and for his experience in Formula One, Racing Point said in a statement.
Hülkenberg will be the companion of the Canadian Lance Stroll at Silverstone, where next Sunday will be the fourth race of the season.
? Racing Point hopes that Hülkenberg, who was part of the team between 2014 and 2016, can minimize the absence of Sergio Pérez and take the opportunity to get a good performance out of the car.
