České Budějovice, a pleasant surprise of last season, started preparations for the 2020/21 year with a new reinforcement from Prague’s Slavia. David Horejš has looked for Matěj Valent, who is already training with Dynamo, and his transfer is currently being resolved.

The 20-year-old midfielder is Slavia’s offspring, but for that he scored only one single league start in the 2018/19 season, but because of him he can be called the winner of this year’s Fortuna League. He played for stitching, especially in youth teams. For the last year and a half he has been a guest in the second league Ústí nad Labem.

However, he outgrew the second league with his qualities. In the last season he started in twenty-eight matches and was mostly a member of the basic team, Ústí nad Labem had a key midfielder in it and it is not so surprising that there is interest in him in the competition higher. Valenta also has several starts for youth teams, especially for eighteen and nineteen.

He has a great career and now he wants to finally make his mark in the first league. He will spend 99% next season in České Budějovice, with whom he has been training for two days. However, the transfer is not finished yet, both clubs must first agree on whether it will be hosting with an option, hosting without an option or a permanent transfer, with Slavia having the option to repurchase. It is unlikely that the staplers would let such talent slip through their fingers …
