Hamilton’s Hungarian “Grand Prix” was also a success in the 90th pole position, a new and ever-improving F-1 record. The third and fourth best times were shown by the two Racing Point riders – Perez and Strols – who were 0.527 and 0.964 seconds behind Hamilton, respectively.

Another disappointment was for the Ferrari drivers, but Vettel (+1,235) finished sixth and Clecker’s (+ 1,401) – seventh after Renault’s Richtero (+1,197).

It also didn’t go on the track to Gasley, around whose engine the mechanics “caged”.

In the second session, when the little rain became the rain, all 20 riders together did only slightly more laps than the first Mercedes ride alone in the first training session.

Vettel was the most successful in the rain, completing the lap in a minute and 40,464 seconds. He was 0.272 seconds ahead of Botas and 1,320 seconds ahead of Sains (McLaren).
