Frank Lampard is still studying and his Anfield collapse was another big lesson – Andy Dunn

Amidst all that he does so effortlessly well, Frank Lampard clearly has a lush line of irony.

“There is a fine line between winning – fair play, they won the league – but not too arrogant with it.”

Says the man who won a lot as a player under Jose Mourinho.

No unearthed arrogance, oh no.

Lampard did not go further and was not dissuaded from his anger over some of the antics by Liverpooler Bank on Wednesday with his praise for Jürgen Klopp and his team.

And despite all their wonderful football and their successes, it’s easy to see how the touchline behavior of Klopp and his employees could lead to opposite numbers.

Frank Lampard lost his coolness with Jürgen Klopp on Wednesday

But it is also easy to see why events in Anfield could have touched a Lampard nerve.

They were a reminder of Liverpool’s greatness and, above all, a reminder of what could kindly be called Lampard’s teething at Chelsea.

He’s a diamond, Frank, there’s no doubt about that.

He will certainly be a good manager from Chelsea or another high profile club.

He’s good for Chelsea FC’s image when Roman Abramovich suddenly takes care of it, but Lampard is at the end of a steep learning curve.

Fifty-four conceded in the Premier League. Only seven teams let in more.

At the same time last season, Chelsea had EIGHT points more than the current year under the much-slandered Maurizio Sarri. Her goal difference was eleven better.

Lampard and his teammates surely had an arrogant trace of them under Jose Mourinho

Chelsea have lost 12 Premier League games and you have to go back over 20 years to find a season in which they have lost more.

Lampard has his team in an FA Cup final, which is very nice. Carlo Ancelotti won an FA Cup and Premier League in his first season and was released 12 months later. Sarri won the Europa League – Lampards Chelsea will most likely soon be training again from Bayern Munich in the second leg of a Champions League tie, in which the Germans have a lead of three goals after the first one-sided game in Stamford.

Chelsea’s entry into next season’s Champions League depends on avoiding a defeat against the wolves on Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

There is no guarantee, not given Chelsea’s defensive vulnerability.

Chelsea prevailed over strikers Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner

But how do the lampard and chelsea human resources deal with this problem?

They are not happy with Christian Pulisic’s progress and have signed Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech.

And they expanded their attack options with the conquest of Timo Werner.

But the truth is, apart from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, success is usually based on solid defense.

Lampard should know after being on the Mourinho side in 2004-05.

This team received an average of 0.39 goals per game as opposed to 1.46 of the current.

Chelsea fought again defensively against Liverpool

Lampard was a little unfortunate to have an expensive half-brick goalkeeper for boots, but his defensive organization is Slapdash at best.

He could still win an FA Cup in his first season as Chelsea manager and limp into the top 4 of the Premier League.

Despite this season’s promise, Lampard is still learning to walk at this level.

And the restless night in Anfield was another lesson.
