Fortuna wants to stunt and talk to striker with 64 Bundesliga games of experience

Fortuna Sittard is working on a surprising transfer. Sebastian Polter played thirteen Bundesliga games on behalf of Union Berlin last season and is now talking to the South Limburgers.

Technical manager Sjors Ultee has confirmed the news to De Limburger. Polter was also a spectator on Saturday afternoon during the exhibition game between Fortuna and FC Dordrecht. The striker played for Union Berlin since January 2017, but was persona non grata since the end of May: because according to Union Berlin – Polter himself disputes this – the only employee who did not want to pay a salary, his stay in the German capital was suddenly ended .

The 29-year-old striker also played Bundesliga football on behalf of VfL Wolfsburg, 1. FC Nürnberg and FSV Mainz in the past: he scored nine hits in 64 games at the highest German level. The English Queens Park Rangers took him over from Mainz in 2015 and paid 2.3 million euros for it: a year and a half later he left for 1.6 million to Union Berlin.

Whether Fortuna has the financial means to bring in Polter remains to be seen. The number 16 of the previous Eredivisie season already brought in Yanick van Osch (PSV), Joshua Wehking (Hamburger SV), Roel Janssen (VVV-Venlo), Emil Hansson (Hannover 96), while mercenary George Cox was taken over from Brighton & Hove Albion.
