F1 has had its first positive coronavirus tests since the season resumed

Formula 1 recorded its first positive corona virus tests since returning to racing in early July.

F1 is coming up for its third season race this weekend, the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest. It is the third race in three weeks where drivers, teams and other personnel are present and there are strict protocols and social bubbles.

Two races were held at the Austrian Red Bull Ring on July 5 and 12 to start the 2020 season.

F1 has performed nearly 14,000 coronavirus tests since the start of this event cycle and achieved two positive results on Friday. Those in rotation must be tested every four days to continue entering the paddock.

The two people who tested positive were not present at the first two races in Austria. Both were taken out of service and isolated, and people with whom they came into contact were tracked down and isolated. No further details have been released.

The results are not expected to hinder the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend.

Ross Brawn, head of F1 Motorsport, said he was surprised that the championship was unsuccessful for 14 days and said it was wrong to expect another weekend without one.

Preparations have been made to ensure that positive tests do not interfere with upcoming events. The Australian Grand Prix in March was canceled after a McLaren team member tested positive and the team pulled out of the event.

The F1’s season schedule currently includes 10 races, although the F1 hopes to add at least five more events in the coming weeks.
