Eric Surs renews for a year on the bench of the Spar Girona

Spar Girona makes official the renewal of Eric Surís as coach of the Girona team. Surís arrived at the club in the 2016-2017 season from CB Salt, where two seasons ago he had achieved the team’s promotion to the EBA League. Now, after several conversations between the club and the coach, an agreement has been reached in every way to face the fifth season in the ranks of the Fontajau club.

In the first two campaigns in elite women’s basketball she won four commendable runners-up: two in the Queen’s Cup and two in the League Day. The 2018-2019 season, managed to lift the league title and Spanish league Catalan, apart from reaching the final of the Copa de la Reina and the semifinals of the Women Eurocup unprecedented in women’s basketball Catalan. He also holds the club’s record of 17 consecutive regular league victories.

Last season, not concluded due to the COVID-19, it stopped when the team was ranked second, to a victory of the leader in the Spanish league. Surís had also qualified the team for the quarter-finals of the Eurocup.

With this gesture, the club and the coach have staged a new example of the continuous and solid project that the club continues to mature and consolidate step by step, both at state and continental level.
