Dublin man hilariously fishing Mayo golf club with blue and blue device booklet after becoming captain

A Mayo golf club may regret the choice of captain this year after the Dublin man chosen for the role hilariously trolled the lack of success across Ireland.

Howth man Jim Quigley has lived in Mayo for 10 years and was recently chosen as the new captain of the Achill Island Golf Club.

One of Jim’s duties as captain is to design the calendar booklet for the year and he took advantage of the opportunity to do a brilliant dig at his adoptive county’s long wait to light up the Sam Maguire trophy.

The cheeky Dub designed the brochure in the county’s blue and blue colors and even embellished it with five stars to indicate the success of five in a row of conquering footballers.

“It’s a little crazy, but some members aren’t too happy,” Jim told The Star.

“One of my duties as captain is to design the device’s booklet and I decided to put the Dublin colors on the cover of it as a way to leave my hat to the Dublin team that won five in a row.

“Many Dubs play golf in our club and they support us well and we have Dublin members living in Achill, so it was a tribute to the team and them.”
