How was the vote?
The list was originally published by ESPN with the aim of identifying the best players in 2020. Each of the voters chose their players for a specific position. After that, the editors compiled the votes and ranked the players based on their first 10 votes, along with other criteria. Whenever there was a tiebreaker between the players, the publishers organized two-player clashes by initiating an additional vote. Whatever their process, Cowherd is clearly not on the same page as voters.
Was Patrick Mahomes underestimated?
Cowherd was mainly surprised because the leaders thought that Patrick Mahomes was not their first choice. Interestingly, last year’s 24-year-old quarterback became just the second player in NFL history to win both a Super Bowl and the MVP title in his first three seasons.
