Detroit Pistons’ new general manager, Troy Weaver, has started filling the rest of his office.

The Pistons hired former Bucks executive David Mincberg as GM assistant, a league source confirmed Tuesday in the free press.

Milwaukee hired Mincberg as director of basketball strategy in 2017. Previously, he worked for five years as director of scouting for the Memphis Grizzlies. He has ties to senior adviser Pistons Ed Stefanski, who was a Grizzlies executive from 2014 to 18 2014.

The Mincberg rental is the first of many that the Pistons will do to complete Weaver’s staff, for a source. The Pistons’ previous GM assistant, Malik Rose and Pat Garrity, left the organization.

ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report Mincberg’s hiring.
