Darts accessories: The right equipment for the World Cup

Last year Michael van Gerwen won the PDC World Darts Championship 2019. This year, the Scottish dart player Peter Wright brought home the victory and the associated £ 500,000 prize money. But how do you become so good? The answer is very simple: practice makes perfect. After all, every professional dart player started out small. If you also want to learn the art of darts, the following is a list of the most important components that you need as a beginner (or budding professional).

The dart board

Before you get the right accessories, you have to choose a classic or electronic dart board – both variants have their advantages and disadvantages. While the classic disc demands mental arithmetic from the players electronic disc automatically. The metal arrows on the original are much sharper and therefore more dangerous, but also easier to repair while the Plastic arrows the electronic edition are harmless and therefore a good start for beginners.

The peaks

By constantly bouncing and pulling out the arrows, the Plastic tips with soft darts – an electronic disc – bend or break over time. The more you indulge in the sport, the greater the wear on arrows in the end. For this reason, you should always have a few replacement tips ready, which you can then replace at any time. Otherwise you will be annoyed if you run out of arrows at the crucial moment.

The catch ring

If you choose a classic dart board, it is advisable to use one Guard ring to buy. It is primarily used to protect your wall from the pointed metal arrows. Because especially with beginners, one or the other arrow does not always land in the disc, but next to it. You just put the ring over the dart board – and if it gets used too hard after a while, you can just turn it over and use the back. Because most protective rings can be used on both sides and are therefore more durable.

Die Flights

The wings on the dart arrow, that is Flightsare crucial for the trajectory. It is therefore all the more important to replace them regularly, like the tip, because the fact is: by falling or bouncing off the dartboard or wall, the flights wear out over time. To master your throwing technique, the wings must be intact. Therefore, broken flights should also be replaced immediately, otherwise the trajectory of the arrows can change negatively. You also get the wings in the Set.

The pocket

A suitable one is not only recommended for storing, but also for transporting the darts Dart pocket: Leave enough space for the arrows and replacement accessories such as the flights and shafts. The plastic or metal tips can be stored in the separate plastic vials, as they can be closed and there is therefore no risk of the tips flying around in the bag and damaging the flights.

The lighting system

It is not necessary, but still very practical: one Dartboard lighting system with magnetic feet so that it can be easily attached to the steel ring of a disc. Equipped with 125 small LED lamps, the system provides the right lighting – regardless of how light or dark it is in the room itself. Not a must for beginners at all, but rather a nice goodie for weak eyes.
