Dallas Mavericks Achieve historic triumph by overcoming Jordan’s Chicago bulls and Durant’s Golden State Warriors – EssentiallySports

While talking about the top scorers, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Kevin Durant are some of the names that are often mentioned. So will it be any surprise that the best offensive team of all time doesn’t include any of them and the Dallas Mavericks instead?

Jordan’s Bulls and Durant’s Warriors are considered two of the best teams. Jordan’s Bulls (1991-1992) had an offensive team score of 116.32 and Durant’s Warriors (2016-17) had an offensive team score of 116.26.

Basket-Reference defines the team’s offensive evaluation as an estimate of the points produced (players) or scored (teams) for 100 possessions.

The triumph of both these teams is the 2019-2020 Dallas Mavericks. With an offensive score of 117.52, Mavs have the best offensive score of all time.

However, both previously mentioned teams won the title. Mavericks have two stars in Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.

But will it be enough to seal the title?

Dallas Mavericks needs this playoff offense

Mavs’ last spell in the playoffs came in 2016. But the last time they went beyond the first round was in 2011. That post-season season eventually led to the first title in the franchise’s history.

With the firepower they possess with Doncic and Porzingis, they are expected to go beyond the first round.

Their offense has been phenomenal, however, their defense has been below average. They rank 17th in the ranking and have a defensive score of 111.43. They are ranked below the Chicago Bulls who did not even qualify for the Orlando bubble.

The porzingis were instrumental in their defense. The MAVs will hope to be a leader and guide on the defensive side. On the other hand, Doncic will continue to be the general general while leading the offense.

After their loss to the Indiana Pacers last night, the Mavericks now play the Philadelphia 76er in their final fight on July 28th. Their first seeding match is against the Houston Rockets on July 31st.

The Mavericks are hoping to rise in the Western Conference rankings, so they can avoid a first-round matchup with the dangerous Los Angeles Clippers.
