A quarter of the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott, have reportedly received their latest offer to extend the contract.

According to Jane Slater of NFL Network, the team is ready to sign Prescott for an average annual salary of between $ 33 million and $ 35 million with more than $ 100 million guaranteed.

The deadline for Prescott to reach an agreement or accept the franchise tag is Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET.

Slater reports that the two sides have not yet discussed the latest offer together.

At $ 35 million a year, Prescott is said to have the second-highest salary in the league behind quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who recently signed an agreement worth more than $ 500 million.

A $ 30 million a year contract for Prescott would place him alongside Atlanta Ryan Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, who earns the same amount. Ryan signed for five years, $ 150 million in 2018.

Between these figures, Prescott would compete with Russell Wilson (average annual value of $ 35 million), Ben Roethlisberger ($ 34 million AAV), Aaron Rodgers ($ 33.5 million AAV), Jared Goff (33.5 million dollars AAV), Kirk Cousins (33 million dollars AAV) and Carson Wentz (32 million dollars AAV).

In particular, each of these rear quarters has a Super Bowl or Super Bowl appearance, with the exception of the cousins.

Prescott would join Minnesota QB as passers-by earning $ 30 million or more a year despite a single playoff victory on their resume. Still, Prescott was arguably one of the most productive quarters of 2019, pitching for 4,902 yards (second highest in the league) with 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He also finished with the fourth best football QBR with 70.2, behind only Lamar Jackson, Mahomes and Drew Brees.

Without an extension, Prescott would earn $ 31.4 million next year on the franchise label before entering unrestricted free agency after the season.

In the open market, it can be much more difficult for Dallas to sign it, even with a list that has been incorporated into a title contender.

In this scenario, Prescott could become the most sought-after free agent in 2021 with only Philip Rivers, Jameis Winston, Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Mullens among the quarterbacks of next year’s class.
